Fair Trade Fall

October 1, 2006

October is Fair Trade Month

Fall is a time of harvest and abundance, but many people
simply do not have enough of the basic necessities. Fair
trade alleviates poverty by creating opportunities for
economically disadvantaged producers. The goal of Fair
Trade Month is to raise awareness of the necessity of fair
trade and the good it does throughout the world, while
expanding the market for fairly traded products. This
month, spread the word about fair trade – ask your local
cafes, grocery stores and clothing boutiques to start
carrying fair trade products or to expand their product
lines if they already do. Support fair trade and help make
the fall harvest bountiful for everyone!
